May 29, 30, 31 | 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Attend one, two, or all three days

Preserving the Old Ways. Building Together.

This build is led by Star Hill Timberworks, founded by Jon Anderson, alongside experienced instructors.

The teaching style is:

  • open and approachable

  • hands on and conversational

  • demonstration based as the work unfolds

No prior experience is required. Questions are welcome at any time. Learning happens naturally, through doing, watching, and shared curiosity.

The goal is to preserve traditional craft by inviting people into it, not gatekeeping it.

What We’re Building

A 16 x 30 timber frame pergola that will live alongside Sno Hill Chapel as:

  • a gathering space

  • a place of rest and conversation

  • a symbol of what can happen when a community builds together

This pergola is being built to last and to tell a story.

The Heart of the Build

The community build is about:

  • making traditional craft visible and accessible

  • learning by doing, watching, and asking

  • honoring the way things were built for generations

  • creating a space that will serve the community for years to come

Whether you’re cutting joinery, observing quietly, asking questions, or simply being present, your participation matters.

This build is about more than wood and tools.

Community Giving

This build supports a local non-profit.

After registering, we’ll reach out to with event details and an opportunity for a sliding-scale donation option:

  • If funds are tight, give what you can

  • Suggested amount reflects the middle of the range

  • If you’re able to give more, your generosity supports others and the community cause

Additional donations will be accepted onsite throughout the weekend.

Farmer Angel Network

We exist to foster mental wellness, reduce stigma, and promote resilience across the agricultural community.

Through trusted partnerships and local outreach, we connect farmers with life-saving mental health resources,

stress-relief tools, and safe spaces for peer-to-peer support.

Food, Music, & Atmosphere

Sno Hill Chapel will be providing catered food throughout the event.

Live music is planned and will be announced soon.

Food, music, and shared labor are intentional parts of creating a calm, welcoming, and community-centered environment.

Come build with us.

Come watch. Come learn. Come belong.
